As wrong as it sounds, fueling an EV on grid power (coal/nuclear) is significantly cleaner than petrol no matter what variables you put into the equation. This is not to say if you have the $$$ to buy BOTH an EV AND a windmill/solar panels for your house to charge with you shouldn't... but if you have to choose, eliminating the use of the petrol car makes far more of an impact in the US on an energy/national security scale.

When I build my NEW house, the solar panels will be bundled into the mortgage, the house, though bigger will be much more efficient (LED lights, superinsulated/passive haus strawbale with radiant concrete heat/cooling) so it'll be much easier to choke down a 15-30k solar rack... since the utility bill will be negative for most months (Illinois finally has net metering. YEA!)

But until then, I'll continue to grid charge, cloth diaper, solar wall and CFL...

And yeah, I still eat meat too, though the vegans point out that I could save a ton of CO2 there... I firmly believe you gotta pick your level of green happiness, but everybody should have a starting point icon_wink.gif

Dear CityEl drivers and lovers,

Where are there parts for the older CityEL's...? Preferably in the USA, but I guess this is wishful thinking.

I'm in need of tires and ignition key switch, and will most likely want to upgrade the electrical.

Anyone in the USA that has one they wish to part out?

Thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Sam
