A Ferrari is usually red. A BMW ideally blue and a Range Rover green. So what would be the ideal color for an Aptera? On pics it usually appears in white. Hmm..what about a multi-color scheme? Or does the Aptera already look exotic enough and doesn't need any fancy coloring? |

With plastics, white is the most easily recycleable. Therefore keeping in line with the cradle-to-grave design concept (ie, recycleablity and green throughout the life of the product -- from cradle-to-grave), it should be white. Of course this doesn't preclude penstriping and decals! Commute suck? Twike it; You'll like it!

Good point! Never thought of that...but makes sense. Well, I've ordered my new TWIKE in red. FineMobile is using water-based paint from BASF which contains 90% less solvents. Not as good as white though |

Where I live, it sometimes gets *very* hot in the summer-- over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. So white would be the best color to reflect light and keep the interior from being any more of an oven than necessary. I realize most people will choose color for aesthetic or emotional reasons, but for me it's a practical decision. [This article was edited 1 times, at last 22.08.2008 at 15:59.] |

No worries really about color -- the fact that it's a Twike/Aptera means it's miles ahead in the cradle-to-grave concept anyway. I'd be hard pressed not to get a nice shiney new Twike in red as well! I read somewhere that cars are the most recycled product in the US though... which I guess is a good thing? Commute suck? Twike it; You'll like it!
