Organiser Louis Palmer did it again. He is not only going around the world with one Solartaxi but with 4 teams each driving an electric vehicle. The event start in Geneva and will follow the route as pictured below. The event is planned to be completed in 80 days (excluding maritime crossings) across 16 countries with stops in approximately 150 major cities along the route. From their website: THE COMPETITION This is not a race about speed. This is a race to make the planet greener and a better place to live for future generations. This is a race to make small, efficient vehicles popular. The team with the smartest, most efficient, most reliable, most usable and most popular concept will be the winner ![]() More details can be found on: http://zero-race.com/en/ |

Unfortunately Team Illuminati Motorworks from my home state of Illinois was invited, but was unable to pull everthing together in such a short time after the X PRIZE... they and their car are a very fun and talented group! Of course I could be biased, I got to go on a ride in Seven last night (http://www.flickr.com/photos/electric-vehicles/4855398164/in/photostream/). It's reported that Kevin's had it up around 100 MPH, and in econo-mode, gets close to 200 MPGe while seating 4. http://www.illuminatimotorworks.org/ Commute suck? Twike it; You'll like it!
