On behalf of my employer I am currently attending a conference at Montreal in Canada. My regular field of work is the Aviation Industry not EVs. But to my surprise the PHEV'09 Plug in Hybrids and Electric Vehicles Conference and Trade Show happens to be in the same hotel as I am staying So during a break I couldn't resist to look at some of the vehicles on the stage. The cars were exhibited in a shopping mall where representatives answered patiently all the questions of people interested in the subject. I have to say that it was a small exhibition as only about 5 cars were showcased. A small and sporty looking car presented by Toronto Electric attracted many visitors. To my surprise the GM-made Chevy Volt was often not even looked at! Maybe because it looks just like any other car on the road A Plug-in Prius (conversion) was also present as well as a Vectrix. Regards to all from Montreal. |

The link http://evworld.com/currents.cfm?jid=26 goes to an article about the vehicle itself, and reader comments (I'd like to recommend any reader here comment and show their support!) Interesting read: It's a two-seater, production is currently limited to one vehicle due to Transport Canada's rules (Canada's equivalent of the US DOT or German TUV). Top speed is 61mph (99km/h) as it's currently designed to be an urban commuter, 1543 pounds empty, can carry a healthy 1,000 pounds payload. It's billed to fill the next slot up above a ZENN or comparable NEV. Commute suck? Twike it; You'll like it!
