The 3-wheeler CityEl is now apparently available with lithium batteries. The battery pack costs 3600 Euros and should be good for 80.000km. The range is said to be around 130km.
Checking the CityEl website I did not see the battery pack advertised yet. Anyone knows how to get them?

If the web site does not mention this where did you get the info?
There is one city-el here in the UK that I know of which has Li-ion batteries installed by the owner.
I must get my city-el out of storage and replace the batteries in readiness for the coming year.Big lead acids will cost about £300 so are a lot cheaper than Li-ions.The lite weight and extended range would be nice but the cost you mention is prohibitive.I can't believe they cost that much!

If I remember correctly this was discussed in a German City-El forum. Not sure if they advertise this option now on their site. Need to check.
BTW, I know of that City-El in the UK as well icon_smile.gif

Not cheap I agree but I fear thats the price you gotta pay these days for Lithium power and all the comfort you get with it... icon_wink.gif
