Hi there, Wikipedia offers some information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_electric_vehicle#Sales_and_rankings Below a graph which shows some forecasts by different forecasters. ![]() The forecasting business is a tricky business and I wouldn't invest on it, but I guess sales depend largely on how well the industry is advertising hybrids. And of course on how high the oil price goes. The same goes for the EV's of course. |

Hi there, sorry but I do not have any insider information, just what on the net and my gut feeling. Are you conducting an indepth study on the issue? I think the market penetration will gradually increase as it did in the past. One big disadvantage of the hybrid cars is their weight as they need to carry around all those extra parts. And tthis again has an influence on the price. On the other hand a plug-in hybrid car which is built with a focus on a low curb weight, might be a good solution for some mobility needs. I think it will also depend on future battery development and their easiness of use. I personally find the range extended EV or series hybrid a better solution to the range issue compared to the currently produced parallel hybrids. |
