Say hello to the most advanced car ever to be "made" and sold in India. The long wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S500L has more power and torque and even more luxury in a personal sized-rendering this side of the Airbus A380. Adil Jal Darukhanawala took the wheel for an ethereal driving experience.

The last year and a half were crazy times, according to Dr Wilfried Aulbur, the enthusiastic and ever smiling head honcho of Mercedes-Benz India. And he said this not entirely keeping the disastrous happenings in the financial world in mind but also the fact that the three-pointed star in India was under severe attack from an established known set of rivals that has harried Mercedes-Benz everywhere in the world. However unlike many places where the German prestige car makers have fought it out, it has mostly been on formidable terms but here the three-pointed star seemed to be in a quandary of its own making and sinking under its own weight of indecision and not exactly behaving like the one which ushered in the premium segment in India's car market.
