My name is David, and I was given a rough looking 1983 CJ7.. I can restor it, but I want it to be fuel efficent, running on alternative fuel, CNG or E85 or something along those lines.. I have been a mechanic since I was a kid, and now make a pretty good living at it.. But to be honest, I know more about building power, than milage.. I want to build the Jeep to be a daily driver, capable of some minor road trips, and some off roading.. Not rock crawling or anything.. But I have land up in the hills that requires 4x4 to get to.. I want something I can use to go camping, pull a trailer.. The basics of a 4 wheel drive pickup.. I would like to maintain some horse power, and torque for hills and canyons in Utah.. Anyone who's got experience with this area, I'd be greatful for your help |

Hi David, Interesting project you have! To be honest I've never converted a car to E85 or similar, but performance should not be an issue here. You might loose a few Nm torque, but that shouldn't matter much. Maybe someone else here can help? Sunny regards, Stefan |
