Hey there! glad to be here! Did some of you Guys heard this news: The House approved a "cash for clunkers" bill that aims to boost new auto sales by allowing consumers to turn in their gas-guzzling cars and trucks for vouchers worth up to $4,500 toward more fuel-efficient vehicles. President Barack Obama has encouraged Congress to approve consumer incentives for new car purchases as part of the government's work to restructure General Motors and Chrysler. The House approved the bill 298-119. What's your point of view about this issue? hmmm.... Check complete details here: http://www.carnewsreport.org/ and feel free to drop a comment! Have a great day! Hmm... well, my almost 20 year old 'clunker' 1991 Camry LE gets between 27-35 mpg. That's right around the average of the US car manufacture's NEW car fleet! (Another 5 years and it would qualify for 'antique' license plate So... from a green perspective, go out and find a Grandma that doesn't drive anymore and is selling off her low-mileage Camry. We've got over 200,000 miles on ours, and it's still going strong with very little maintenance! Being frugal/cheap often goes hand-in-hand with being green -- reduce consumption (consumerism), reuse other people's cast-offs. Everytime I'm enticed by a new piece of gear (or hear someone say "that's waayy to expensive, I saw one at WalMart for far less), I remind myself of "The Story of Stuff" http://www.thestoryofstuff.com/ Of course it doesn't work all the time... Flip Mino HD video camera, JVC HD Radio for the Twike... Commute suck? Twike it; You'll like it!

We have something like that in germamy for this year. Cales "Öko-Prämie". Wreck your old car and get 2500€ when buying a new one. Of course this has nothing to do with enviroment. It is just a boost for th car-industry. Best way to proof this, is that you do not get funded when buying a Twike or City-El, because only 4-Weelers are supported. Sure, protect the enviroment buy not supporting the only two enviromental friendly E-Mobils with are sold more than 10 times a year in germany.... Alleweder 4
