Small auto manufacturer Miles Electric doesn't make the news much, but they've been quietly working on producing a highway-capable all-electric 4-door sedan, made in China and powered by lithium-ion batteries, supposedly using a different chemistry which doesn't have the danger of overheating. Miles has made low-key tentative announcements that they plan on selling it next year in the USA at a price of about $35,000. AutoBlogGreen thinks they've identified which car the XS500 will be based on; see article here. And yes, that really is a picture of the Hafei Saibao; I checked it out via Google Image search. Of course, there's no way of knowing if Miles will succeed in marketing the car next year at the planned price. As with EEStor, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
