The Swiss EV project 'mindset' is well underway according the latest news from the company. A new website has been launched and it's content is geared towards a larger audience and potential buyers of the car. Serial production is scheduled for later this year. But more interesting is the following press release statement: "Ground-breaking battery cell conditioning technology greatly extends range of mindset vehicles on an industry-exclusive basis Since early 2011, mindset has been cooperating with a researcher/inventor who developed a ground-breaking battery innovation, proven by confirmatory results from various laboratory studies and an industrial application. The new technology is based on conventional battery cells, however a proprietary charging and discharging process will allow mindset to reach driving ranges far beyond what the industry has so far believed to be possible. mindset will initially use this technology, with certain restrictions, in the automotive market on an industry-exclusive basis. The new battery technology enables mindset cars to set new standards in mileage range, battery weight, and battery power. The major tests of this technology for stress, fast-charging, thermal issues, and the target driving range were either met or exceeded. First public test drives will be conducted after all safety tests simulating everyday use have been passed." Interesting times...Anyone having an idea what kind of cell conditioning technology this is? Just found out, nobody really knows, but mindset might be working together with the German company Kolibri Power Systems AG.
