Poll: Would you buy an electric car?

Poll
Question:
Would you buy an electric car?
Yes, we need more environmentally friendly vehicles. I don't mind limited range and performance.

No, electric cars are limited in range and performance and too expensive.

Yes I would, if range is at least 100miles (160km) and the car offers similar performance as a small car (35kw).

I don't want and need a private car. What we need is well working public transport network.

I rather wait until another alternative such as a low-emission hybrid, hydrogen or diesel car (Loremo) becomes available.

Just wondering what your opinion is regarding electric cars. Would you buy one? Or is there a lot more to be done (range, price, performance) before you would consider one?

The biggest problem is having some to choose from. Your now there are very few available. The Tesla at 98K and eBox at 55K to convert your xB scion. A few show they may be out soon that there just aren't too many available.

Just like a good hybrid that is a full hybrid , only Toyota makes them. All the others even Honda are mild assist and can't move 1 inch without the gas motor.

The plug-in hybrids are also scarce so far. Only hybrids-plus.com in Colorado will convert your 2004 or newer prius. It 24K to 36K depending on EV range.

Someday we will have lots of real choices. Right now it's very limited. Many of us do our own conversion to pure electric but it's hard to get good NiMH or Lithium batteries. Lead acid are just too heavey and short lived. They are holding us back.
