Hello EV lovers, I'd like to post an e-mail I have received from Mitsubishi Motors UK. The long awaited EV from Mitsubishi is coming to town. Mitsubishi will be delivering the first i -MiEV’s to 25 lucky drivers at a special drive-away event, 12th December, Centenary Square, Birmingham. The drive-away event will be held between 10am and 1pm and will be located in the centre of Birmingham, next to the Birmingham Wheel and the Birmingham Christmas Market. To make this a memorable occasion we have planned an exciting morning of activities including face painters, jugglers and balloon sculptors. If you are in need of escaping from the cold we will be serving hot beverages and pastries throughout the morning in the Birmingham Repertory Theatre restaurant. So if you would like to see the i-MiEV first hand or are planning some Christmas shopping in Birmingham we would love to see you. To help us plan for numbers it would help us if you could fill your details on the guest list by clicking the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6S2XPGH Looking forward to seeing you Kind regards Toby Marshall Good luck with the launch, Mitsubishi! ecocarforum.com - Green Car Network

I've got one of these new Mitsubishi's and have been using it as our main family vehicle since we got it in December. It was a good launch with a lot of interest from the general public. We all drove off in convoy (and got completely lost around the streets of Birmingham). EVcast did a live broadcast from the event and I was one of the guests on the show. The car is very good: quick, comfortable, spacious enough for four people and very practical. Since we got the car we haven't used a petrol car at all. A couple of months prior to getting the Mitsubishi, I was at the German Motor Show in Frankfurt and was one of the few who was allowed to drive the new REVA NXR that is coming out later this year. I have to say that is a very good car as well - more compact than the Mitsubishi, and not quite as fast, but with better primary ride and a smoother drivetrain. I think 2010 is going to be a good year for electric vehicle enthusiasts. Author of the book 'Owning an Electric Car' - http://www.OwningElectricCar.com

I wish you many happy electric miles with your Mitsubishi i-MiEV. Thanks for pointing out the Reva NXR, I was not aware of it so far! Quite cute little looking car. Was it difficult to get the i-MiEV in the UK? Is the date for a full market introduction set or are you just test driving it for a year as part of a field trial?
