Some businesses deserve to die, no matter how big they are. I'm glad the American Auto Industry wasn't bailed out. The first link is to the start of the list of crappy cars GM has brought to market over the years, the last link is to the EV1. It gets a lot of the information dead wrong about the EV1, like insinuating the fact that there not enough people to take over the leases on the EV1. Or that the average American needs to go further than 40 miles (at the time the EV1 was released, the average american drove less-than 50 miles a day... so 25 miles to work, charge all day, 25 miles home...) http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/reader_rides/4293188.html?page=1 http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/reader_rides/4293188.html?page=10 Commute suck? Matt, I do agree with you on your point that some business deserve to die. Sounds terrible but does in the long run a lot of good. I've been following the debate about GM for a while now. The management needs to stand down and accept their failure to lead this company to a profitable and sustainable future. Any sports club would fire the coach immediately with such a poor performance record. |

I know this thread is a little old, but they(GM) cut around 2000 jobs as of recent. I've been following this type of news as well. [This article was edited 1 times, at last 27.01.2009 at 09:11.] Don't forget to Be Green! |

I couldn't agree more. Let them die! If they had the foresight to become more competitive with foreign markets and produce more fuel efficient vehicles and made them better, they wouldn't have failed....clean out the dead wood. I feel dirty working selling best people for used cars Kansas city. I heard there will be a fundamental paradigm shift in the market towards electric vehicles as a direct result of the Big 3 going down. So it is definitely for the best. It's about time. Bring it on!
