I saw the other day an interesting report of car buyers preferences regarding the color of the car. In Switzerland more than 70% of all cars are either grey, blue or black. What I've been noticing for a while, was confirmed with this report. Most people do not want anything exotic. In terms of cars, this means four wheels, a steering wheel and a color which is not a strong messenger. Anything trendy is usually accepted and might even become standard (LED lights). Something exotic though first needs to get near 'trendy' before anyone can consider large production numbers. Example: Aptera, TW4XP... Any thoughts? |

I first thought the 2004 Prius was ugly (we owned a 2003). I've since gotten used to it and we own a 2007. I think that for your early adopters, they DON'T want their vehicle to look just like everybody else's. Once the early adopters accept your vehicle, they spread it out to everywhere else, and then the unique look becomes a marketing advantage (you stick out). Commute suck? Twike it; You'll like it!
