Tesla Motors has released some interesting graphs about the Roadsters efficiency and range. Is this the response to the rumours that the Roadster is wasting too much of its stored energy by onboard equipment? It might be. Whatever the reason, the data consists of interesting graphs and show the relations of speed vs range, power vs speed etc. You can find the data on TM website: http://www.teslamotors.com/blog4/?p=70 So long... ecocarforum.com - Green Car Network

formerly i considered the tesla-ranges to be very unrealistic. But having seen one, and considering weight (1238 kg), shape and the capacity of 50 kWh, i had to change that opinion. Not using it's power, 15 kWh per 100 km are quite realistic. And more than 300 km range would fullfil 99.9 % of my transportation needs. But of course, almost 500 kg of batteries ist something, i do not consider a good solution. Far to much weight and cost to do something like that in an inexpensive car. Alleweder 4
