I know this is mostly about cars, but does anyone know how the newer Hybrid trucks are performing? Don't forget to Be Green! |

I was interested in knowing about the average hybrid truck. How fast can it go before it switches to its gas fuel. I imagine because trucks are bigger and heavier, they may not have quite the same statistics as hybrid cars. If anyone out there actually knows which truck is currently the best for the money or if they can vouch for a particular brand, I would be interested in knowing. Don't forget to Be Green! |

might be ok in efficiency - compared to other trucks and SUVs ... But definitely NOT a green car. I have the firm believe that a reduction of energy consumption by 30% or maybe 50% is by far not enough. It starts to be an efficient reduction when we talk about a reduction of energy consumption by 90 or more percent! These much to heavy vehicles are never going to be efficient/green! Especially when most of the time only one person is using it. Why moving more than 1500kgs to carry a payload of 100kg (one person with clothing and Laptop)?!? To the more extreme: my vehicle weighs 50kgs - and is well sufficient for my every day use! Its not that I never use a car - it makes sense in some circumstances. My personal need shows me that I need a car maybe ten times a year. Fine to rent one then ... |

Of course i assume, that a truck is only used for carriing lots of payload. Even the greenes vehicle is not green when not used for its right purpose. When used the Right way, Truck have a good payload / vehicleweight ratio. Something a car never reaches.... Alleweder 4
