Pictures of the 3rd generation Toyota Prius Hybrid have appeared on the internet months ahead of its official reveal. Its expected that the fuel consumption will drop from the current 4.4lts/100km to below 4.0 lts/100km. CO2 emmission are expected to be down to 90g/km. ![]() I like the new design. No dramatic difference, but somewhat more sporty. |

Can I plug it in? This is seriously a major shortcomming. The reason being that I live in a "city" where the average commute to work is 15 minutes, and at 20 minutes frustration/road rage sets in. Needless to say, it is very difficult to get over 30mpg in town in a Prius that must first warm up the engine to go anywhere. I would highly recommend that any Prius (or other Hybrid owner) take a look at learning to drive it to its maximum potential by visiting a Hybridfest in your area -- well worth it! You may not become a hypermiler, but you can learn some simple technical improvements and/or retraining of your right-foot that will help you easily beat the EPA MPG for your vehicle. Google 'Hybridfest' and you should be able to find it, or they're also active on PriusChat Commute suck? Twike it; You'll like it!

Not sure if I like the sporty look. The marketing company I work for is doing a promotion for the environmental online community, EcoPerks. Working with the site has been peeking my interest in eco-friendly cars. You can actually earn a Prius by accumulating enough EcoPoints (the site's currency). You can obtain EcoPoints by going paperless, shopping green, calculating your carbon footprint, etc. We're currently focusing on their paperless campaign. You can go paperless by signing up at: http://www.ecoperks.com/paperless.php. It's a great way to get a few points closer to the Prius. |

Just saw interior photos of the new Prius and I do not like it period. The current one is cleaner and better in my opinion. The console running from the dash down the middle with conventional shifter is like everything else and takes up space. Why do they have to mess with things that are already good? The outside styling at the front is going conventional as well and just mimicks every other car on the road. Dropping the CO2 emissions down 90g/km is good, wonder what other improvements along this line there will be? |
