Toyota has announced that it will start to introduce PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) to fleet customers in the US and elsewhere by 2010. The announcement was made at the 2008 North American Intl. Auto Show in Detroit. A mass production of Li-Ion batteries is currently being investigated at the Omori plant in Japan by Panasonic EV Energy (Joint Venture Toyota and Matsushita). Will 2010 be the year of mass-produced plug-in EV's? |
