Hello all,

After being a TWIKE Fan for more than 10 years I have now finally ordered one!
I've been considering the TWIKE for the first time in 1996 when it was shown to the public but I simply did not have enough cash at the time. A few years later I rented one for a day and my TWIKE fever reached again a new height.
But the decision to buy one was postponed once again, price and range being the obstacles...
Little did I know that the cost of ownership is about the same as a small car. I only saw the relatively high price tag. Looking back I must admit that even a range of 30 miles would have been sufficient to do most of the every day driving.

So what made me buy one today?
We live in 'overboost mode' today and I've realized that we need to change the way we do things today.
Sometimes I feel ashamed not to have done my bit to help the environment with more determination. While I always loved nature and supported the protection of the environment, I did little to REDUCE my emission footprint.

A couple years ago I've started to change this. Everytime I had the chance to make a change, I went for it! And its amazing what can be achieved in a short time.
At the moment I use the public transport system or bicycle to go to work. Although we cannot complain about the public transport system in Switzerland, the freedom is limited.

The TWIKE offers the freedom of a car and drives as efficiently as a public transport system. For us its the perfect choice!
a) because we do not need a bigger vehicle (2 person household)
b) we stay fit and move our legs while driving/traveling
c) its not more expensive than a small car
d) its extremely low on emissions (some call it emmission free icon_smile.gif ) (our electricity comes from renewable resources)
e) its a lot more fun to drive than a car
f) communication and a smile from people is guaranteed icon_smile.gif

Our Lithium-Ion TWIKE will be delivered in early 2009. So there is plenty of time to dream about.
I hope the TWIKE will become more affordable and available for a lot more people in the future.

Cheers!
Stephen

Hi Stephen,

congratulations on your choice!

I hope I was helping a little bit with the decision making over the past months on this forum. icon_cool.gif

Now all you can wish for is that Fine Mobile is able to keep its production schedule.

I've also ordered a Twike (again - it's going to be my second one) and my estimated delivery is January 2009.

This time it's a Twike Easy for me - as I have knee problems now and shouldn't pedal anymore.

Cheers

Hello Franko30,

Sorry to hear that you have to switch to an 'Easy'. Luckily the TWIKE also comes as an 'Easy' version. With the delivery expected in January 09 it seems that the serial numbers of our TWIKEs will be very close to eachother.

And yes, you were quite a bit of help in making the decision. Thanks for your many invaluable postings!

Cheers,
Stefan
