Hi folks,
Does anyone in this forum have some good in-depth knowledge about trustable companies/organisations to offset CO2 emissions?

There are now hundreds of these organisations and surely some of 'em are questionable. How to find out whom you can trust?

I only know some carbon-offset organisation in the UK, should be trustable,
1) Carbon Clear : - www.carbon-clear.com
Offers packages to offset emissions from your car, flight or home. The money is used to help subsistence farmers in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and indis to reverse damage caused by deforestation, drought and famine.
2) The Carbon Neutral Company :- www.carbonneutral.com
Formerly 'Future forests', this is the best-established carbon-offset company in the UK. With support from bands such as Coldplay, it offers an impressive array of gifts, including carbon-free weedings and win-up mobile phone chargers! And it invests in projects worldwide, such as tree-planting and renewable energy.
3) The C-Change Trust : - www.thec-changetrust.com
Set up in 2006, it offers carbon offsets by planting frees in the UK for community benefit.

Thats all I know! icon_smile.gif

Thanks to you all for your inputs and suggestions.
I've had a look at Atmosfair and its seems to be a credible organisation.

I am trying to reduce my airmiles as much as possible. What really concerns me is the attitude of many travelers. Surely most of them are aware of the emissions caused by air travel, but seem not to care at all. icon_rolleyes.gif

For all of you interested in trustworthy carbon offset schemes, please have a look here:
http://www.cleanair-coolplanet.org/ConsumersGuidetoCarbonOffsets.pdf

As recommended by Franko30, I have chosen atmosfair, located in Germany. Its one of the Top 5 organisations listed. Carbon offsetting is to many of us a controversial issue. If airtravel cannot be avoided, joining a trustworthy scheme is a good alternative.
