There has been a lot of "buzz" recently in various blogs about why EEstor hasn't made any public announcements, or released the promised third-party permittivity tests of their claimed breakthru technology ultracapacitor. Supposedly EEstor is on the verge of making public announcements and putting up a website. Yet at the same time an interview indicated they're now promising to deliver finished EEstor units at the beginning of *next* year-- not before the end of *this* year as previously promised. The blog article linked below has a great deal of info not reported elsewhere, including claims that EEstor is much farther along in developing the manufacturing process than is public knowledge. I am providing a link to this because I know there are many out there as eager as I am to find out if EEstor's promises will come true, or if it's a very sophisticated scam. HOWEVER I want to warn readers that little if any of the info in this article is substantiated, and even the anonymous blogger has a disclaimer elsewhere on his site that much or most of this should be treated as rumor. http://bariumtitanate.blogspot.com/2008/07/eestor-beyond-permittivity.html |

I believe it's big news. A little longer is not to bad. As long as it's still in progress I want them to get it right. The Lithium battereis are starting to become available this year and thy are a big step. The prices should come down a little next year and beyond. Thunder ky with it's longer life and light weight is very good now. |

Unfortunately I am not expert enough to judge whether the claims are true or false. But rumours of this extent have usually some truth attached to it. Just my gut feeling... However info about it is scarce and claims are not verified, therefore I treat EEstor news with caution. In my view it is important not to wait for the 'perfect battery' technology delivering a 300 mile range but to promote current alternative car technology by using it. Some of you readers might argue that the problems of e.g. electric cars are not solved yet (range). But what about the problems we have today with gas/diesel powered cars? Are they solved??? ecocarforum.com - Green Car Network

"EEstor Assembly for Dummies" Another blog post at BariumTitanate.Blogspot.com links to the above article, written by someone who apparently has a lot of technical knowledge of the field. This person writes what appears to me to be informed speculation on how EEstor's manufacturing process might work: http://docs.google.com/View?docID=dgxx9dmv_0fndtw4db&revision=_latest More comments on the article at BariumTitanate.Blogspot.com: http://tinyurl.com/6f3ftm |

EEstor has issued a new press release: http://tinyurl.com/6h8z9x However, this is so ambiguously worded and so full of "weasel word" conditional statements that it is unclear if it contains anything of real meaning. In fact, after reading this I am much more skeptical of EEstor's claims. I can't imagine any legitimate purpose for such a purposely vague and confusing statement. The only thing it seems this will accomplish is to generate publicity and therefore interest by investors. |
