EEstor Conversions for NYC Taxis?

But this is enuff to get me excited again-- with this plan, we wouldn't need to wait the 20 years or so it would take for most people to wear out their "gassers" and buy an electric car as their *next* vehicle. They could convert the one they already own!

But...it's just from a blog and we are still waiting for that 3rd party validation...but I don't give up hope! But why not switch to an electric car now? The technology is here and most of the driving we do today can be done electrically. I know, availability of electric cars are limited, but why not switch to a smaller, more efficient car or a hybrid?
