Hello EV experts, you might have heard of the Nanosafe battries by Altairnano. I just wonder are there any plans of using them in an EV soon? Apart from the http://www.lightningcarcompany.co.uk I do not know of any other EV manufacturer using them. Any idea? ecocarforum.com - Green Car Network

I have not heard of anyone using them yet, although it's interesting that Valence, Altairnano, and A123 are all basically selling the same technology. Considering how much of this stuff is patented, I am surprised all of the progress has not been halted by litigation yet. I have spoken with reps from a number of the battery vendors for some of our electric vehicle side projects, and all I can say is that the prices for any of these systems are outrageous. I know they will come down, but right now they too costly for most applications. |
