Details are finally coming out about the behind-the-scenes turmoil at Tesla Motors, which resulted in several delays in getting the car into production, and the ouster of founder Martin Eberhard and about 10% of the company's employees. Amid all the finger-pointing and attempts to lay all the blame on either Eberhard or Elon Musk, there is some interesting info on how a start-up auto company works-- or doesn't. http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/07/technology/copeland_tesla.fortune/index.htm [This article was edited 1 times, at last 12.07.2008 at 19:34.] |

Interesting article, it nicely sums it all up. I wonder how long Martin Eberhard has now to wait for his Roadster after it crashed into that truck on delivery? The Tesla story is quite remarkable and what puts a smile on my face is the fact that the big auto makers are working nervously with sweaty hands on something equal. ecocarforum.com - Green Car Network

Martin Eberhard finally got his Tesla Roadster on July 19, 2008, after a delay so long it suggests spite on the part of Tesla Motors. Of course, the fact that a Tesla employee rear-ended a truck while test-driving the car didn't help; they had to replace the front end. http://www.teslafounders.com/ There's no way to link to an individual article on this site.
