If reports are true, VW plans to put the Golf Twin Drive Plugin-Hybrid onto the market in 2010. Its powered by a 122 hp diesel engine (who needs 122 hp?) and a 82 hp electric motor. The electric motor is used for primary power. The Twin Drive Golf should be able to squeeze out about 30 miles from its Li-Ion batteries. VW plans to introduce the Golf TDI Hybrid with NiMH batteries (note: no plug-in option!) in 2009. Please note that other sources only state that 20 Twin Drive Golf's are being tested in 2010 and no plans exist for any production at this point. |

This is embarressing! More then 200 hp in a "green" car. How stupid can they be? But it don't think, that it really matters. There is (and will be in the next year) no green way, to move cars, that have such a high weight or bad air resistance, that someone even thinks about more than 50 hp! Alleweder A4
